Sarah Palin Blames Environmentalists For Gulf Oil Disaster

With [environmentalists'] nonsensical efforts to lock up safer drilling areas, all you’re doing is outsourcing energy development, which makes us more controlled by foreign countries, less safe, and less prosperous on a dirtier planet. Your hypocrisy is showing. You’re not preventing environmental hazards; you’re outsourcing them and making drilling more dangerous.

Extreme deep water drilling is not the preferred choice to meet our country’s energy needs, but your protests and lawsuits and lies about onshore and shallow water drilling have locked up safer areas. It’s catching up with you. The tragic, unprecedented deep water Gulf oil spill proves it.

9 Reasons Why "Going Rogue" Goes Rogue

PALIN: Boasts that she ran her campaign for governor on small donations, mostly from first-time givers, and turned back large checks from big donors if her campaign perceived a conflict of interest.

THE FACTS: Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised for her primary and general election campaigns for governor, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500, according to an AP analysis of her campaign finance reports. The maximum that individual donors could give was $1,000; $2,000 for a PAC.

Of the rest, about $76,000 came from Republican Party committees.

She accepted $1,000 each from a state senator and his wife in the weeks after the two Republican lawmakers’ offices were raided by the FBI as part of an investigation into a powerful Alaska oilfield services company. After AP reported those donations during the presidential campaign, she said she would give a comparative sum to charity after the general election in 2010, a date set by state election laws.

Palin popular among fans of Limbaugh and Beck

Sarah Palin may or may not run for president in 2012, but she is already the overwhelming favorite in the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck primaries.

Almost half of all Republican and GOP-leaning independents alike said they think Palin has had a good effect on their party, compared with 20 percent who think she has had a negative effect. Eighty percent of Limbaugh listeners and 70 percent of Beck viewers said she has had a positive impact.

Nearly all Republicans have sympathy for Palin for the treatment she has received from the news media since she burst onto the national stage as John McCain’s vice presidential running mate last year. Overall, 87 percent said the media have treated her unfairly.

There is, however, no middle ground for Palin. As much as she is liked by many Republicans, she is disliked almost as strongly by many independents. In a pair of focus groups conducted in Aurora, Colo., recently — one with Republicans and the other with independents — Palin provoked strong and conflicting opinions, as she does in national polling.

I’m not really sure if this news or not… but it’s definitely something we already knew. Regardless, the outlook for Palin isn’t exactly bleak, but it’s also not very good. And I can’t say I’m upset.

I’m just happy the crazies are constistent and we can generally classify them together. It’s a full moon tonight!

9 Reasons Why "Going Rogue" Goes Rogue

PALIN: Says she made frugality a point when traveling on state business as Alaska governor, asking “only” for reasonably priced rooms and not “often” going for the “high-end, robe-and-slippers” hotels.

THE FACTS: Although travel records indicate she usually opted for less-pricey hotels while governor, Palin and daughter Bristol stayed five days and four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House luxury hotel (robes and slippers come standard) overlooking New York City’s Central Park for a five-hour women’s leadership conference in October 2007. With air fare, the cost to Alaska was well over $3,000. Event organizers said Palin asked if she could bring her daughter. The governor billed her state more than $20,000 for her children’s travel, including to events where they had not been invited, and in some cases later amended expense reports to specify that they had been on official business.

Former Alaska Governor lashed out at the Associated Press Sunday for doing a fact-check on her memoir, “Going Rogue.”

“Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “They’re now erroneously reporting on the book’s contents and are repeating many of the same things they spewed during the campaign and afterwards. We’ve heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, “fact checking” research!”

The AP reported that Palin’s account often contradicted her record as well as current events. Her depiction of the McCain campaign is also frequently at odds with internal campaign emails.

Palin’s Missed Opportunity

Apparently Sarah Palin was approached for a possible future in radio—and then was passed on just as quickly by the largest radio conglomerate in the country, Clear Channel. Do they realize what kind of opportunity they’ve missed out on?! My god, we could have all been blessed with hours and hours of straight talk, hockey mom jargon, all while putting lipstick on our pitbulls.

Actually, I’m with Clear Channel. It takes a little more than a few mildly hot speeches to earn the respect of radio’s best—after all, do you really think Palin could blabber on for a minimum of 2-3 hours straight? She’s got the looks, but unfortunately, this is radio people. No brains, no bones.
